I found your meditation on Tuesday amazing and deep - sufficient to nourish my being. Lynn
The intention of meditation is to consciously focus one’s attention on one thing at a time in order to quiet the mind resulting in a greater sense of inner peace and calm. Meditation keeps us in the moment and has many mental, physical, emotional and spiritual benefits. Meditation melts away stress, activating the “feel-good” prefrontal cortex region of the brain. With increased feelings of happiness, a renewed zest for life is achieved.
Meditation sharpens the mind by synchronizing both the left and right hemispheres of the brain thereby improving memory, retention and recall. It enhances creativity, increases energy and improves sleep. Regular meditation helps to create a positive perspective and an overall sense of well-being.
Guided meditation is gentle. There are no right or wrongs, no expectations and no pressure to perform. The only equipment required is a quiet space with chairs and place to spread out for those who prefer to lie down. Participants are welcome to bring their own mats, blankets, and cushions.
A guided meditation session is an hour long and includes an introduction, a forty minute meditation starting with breath work for calming the mind, followed by body relaxation and concludes with a guided imagery. We finish with time to go around the circle to share our experiences. Creative imagery, combined with special breathing techniques are effective tools for reducing stress and for restoring health and vitality.
